Ginger is highly regarded by naturopathic cosmetologists. The results of using natural cosmetic products with ginger are noticeable right away, thanks to a multitude of active elements and essential oil. I previously wrote about the beneficial properties and uses of ginger in medicine .
Ginger is ideal for oily skin, as it acts as an antiseptic – one of the few plants that eliminate staphylococcus and regulates sebum production at the cellular level.
Ginger for the Face
Acne Lotion with Ginger. Add a tablespoon of grated fresh ginger root to a tablespoon of dried celandine leaves, pour a cup of boiling water, let it cool and steep. Add 30 grams of vodka or slightly less alcohol. Store in a dark place. Wipe your face and neck with the lotion after washing, and make sure to use a moisturizing cream after using alcohol-based products.
Ginger Mask for Oily Skin. Mix a teaspoon of dried ginger or a dessert spoon of fresh ginger mashed into a paste with a teaspoon of buttermilk or kefir. This mask disinfects the pores, nourishes, and brightens the skin.
Honey Mask with Ginger for Dry and Aging Skin. One teaspoon of chopped ginger, one teaspoon of honey, and a few drops of your favorite vegetable oil.
Ginger for Hair
Ginger stimulates hair growth, irritates dormant follicles, and treats oily seborrhea. After washing your hair, rub fresh ginger juice into the scalp and wrap your head in a warm towel. You should feel a slight burning sensation. Ginger juice can enhance any hair care product.
Ginger Hair Mask. Mix ginger juice with dried ginger in equal proportions, massage this paste into the scalp, and rinse your hair with warm water after 15 minutes. You can keep the mask on your hair longer, ideally up to an hour.
Variant Ginger Mask with Honey. Ginger paste or a tablespoon of dried ginger is mixed with a tablespoon of honey and an egg yolk. Massage the mixture into the scalp and keep it warm for half an hour.
Ginger for Feet
Ginger has antifungal properties, so foot baths with ginger are very beneficial. Soak your feet in hot water with 2 tablespoons of grated ginger, and add 2-3 bay leaves. The bay leaf deodorizes and combats bacteria together with ginger.
Fresh ginger can be replaced with dried ginger, and vice versa.
Homemade Ginger Cream. I have prepared this recipe multiple times: grind a piece of root into a paste, add your favorite vegetable oil (1 tablespoon; I prefer grapeseed oil or wheat germ oil), and one ampoule each of vitamins A and E. Heat the mixture well in a water bath, let it steep, and strain it from the ginger pulp. Before use, mix the separated cream. It can be used for the face, hands, and feet. If the emulsion hasn’t fully absorbed, remove the excess with a napkin after 20-30 minutes. You can make cream with any herbs and oils this way; it’s a simple yet brilliant basic recipe.
Any cosmetic product can be enhanced with ginger essential oil , and you can even grow ginger on your windowsill.
