Decorating flower pots can become a real hobby. I love visiting the flower pot sections in stores—not for buying, but for inspiration :) The flower pots I like are outrageously expensive, so I prefer to decorate the pots myself.
A plastic pot with a saucer cost $1. I have experience with oil paints, so I used them to paint the pot—without priming, I simply painted leaves on the plastic:
Next, I crocheted a ruffle for the edge of the pot and some flowers with leaves. It’s all quite quick and enjoyable to make. It’s better to use smooth threads, such as mercerized cotton; the thinner, the better. I used a 0.85 mm hook. I glued the crocheted motifs onto the pot:
The result is cute and practically free. These pots can also make great gifts.
