Rosemary is not used as a raw material for cosmetic procedures, but I highly respect homemade rosemary oil. I think of it primarily with the first sunny days… Freckles and pigmentation spots fear rosemary very much. Alongside lavender , rosemary is praised as a remedy for stretch marks.
Rosemary for the Face
Thanks to its chemical composition , rosemary is one of the best natural antibiotics. Without drying out the skin and normalizing the work of sebaceous glands, rosemary cleanses the skin of acne and tightens pores, and is used in the complex treatment of eczema and various rashes. It helps to dissolve scars and spots from pimples and hides the capillary network.
If you have olive oil infused with rosemary , you can use it pure, but if you have rosemary essential oil , add it to a carrier oil or product at a rate of 3-4 drops.
Rosemary oil for scars, blemishes, and congestion spots. In a small glass bottle, mix 2 tablespoons of good quality 6% apple cider vinegar with 10 drops of infused rosemary oil or 4 drops of essential rosemary oil. Wipe the face twice a day; for particularly deep scars, you can make applications using the mixture for 3-5 minutes. This recipe is proven, and more so, it even works without rosemary, but the skin likes it better with the oil. It is especially effective in conjunction with regular salt peeling , but during the winter months, do salt peels no more than once a week, and be very gentle about it. However, the skin restoration process is long, taking 2-3 months.
Enriching cream with rosemary. Any skincare product can be improved by adding a few drops of rosemary oil. I prefer to mix a drop of oil with a portion of cream just before application; I usually have creams in tubes (Indian Ayurvedic creams in jars are rare). But rosemary oil can extend the shelf life of your creams, which also applies to oregano oil , thyme oil , and bay leaf oil .
Rosemary for spider veins. Apply infused rosemary oil on the star-shaped veins at night, either pure or with a drop of moisturizer. The skin in these areas becomes healthier and firmer, and the vessels hide away.
Rosemary and sea buckthorn oil work great together, for example, in a sour cream mask. For one teaspoon of sour cream, add 3-4 drops of sea buckthorn and rosemary. Just keep in mind that sea buckthorn slightly stains the face, so such masks are best done at night. They suit all skin types, smooth out fine lines, and heal inflammation and scars.
Scrub with rosemary. I can’t stop praising salt scrubs - they are accessible, effective, and have a plethora of variations for any skin type. Add a teaspoon of rosemary oil to a dessert spoon of salt and give a careful, gentle massage to the steamed face. Be sure to avoid the nasolabial triangle. You will definitely love this scrub!
Rosemary for Hair
Rosemary is recommended as a rinse for oily hair. Boil a couple of sprigs of rosemary in 0.5 liters of water and rinse your hair with this infusion after washing.
Dried out, restorative hair can be treated with this shampoo: children’s neutral shampoo + one tablespoon of base oil (avocado, burdock, grape seed, etc.) + 20 drops of essential rosemary oil or 2 teaspoons of infused rosemary oil. This composition is specifically meant for treatment purposes, lasting for about 1.5-2 months.
